Today’s word is from Proverbs chapter 4 which you can read here. Proverbs 4 NKJV – Security in Wisdom – Hear, my children, – Bible Gateway
We have to hear instruction to know understanding. We listen to the word of God and then we know what He wants us to do. It really is that simple and that is why the cry is to read His word, dear child of God. Study to show yourself approved unto God (2 Timothy 2:15). With wisdom comes understanding.
Wisdom, understanding and knowledge are so important that God used them in creation. (See Proverbs 3:19-20). Wisdom is life and health. It is one thing to know the word of God, we must take it a step further and ask God to apply wisdom to our heart. We then must also apply wisdom to our daily life in wherever we go and whatever we say. Our lives have to shine forth with the word of God. Obedience to God’s word is life (Deuteronomy 8).
Remember His word and be humble.
Matthew 4:4 NKJV But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ ”
Father God,
Thank You for this time together today. Thank You for the gift of life that You have given us and the ability to read Your word and gain wisdom. All good gifts are from You and we ask that You would grant us wisdom to do the things which You have for us to do. We seek for wisdom, knowledge and understanding that come from You alone. Help us to shine in this dark world with Your wisdom. We love You and ask all things in Jesus’ name. Amen.
