Proverbs 15 NKJV – A Soft Answer Turns Away Wrath – A soft – Bible Gateway
Always give a gentle answer. Gentle words bring life and hope. Kind words are like honey, sweet to the soul and healthy for the body (Proverbs 16:24). A person’s words can be refreshing (proverbs 18:4). They can bring satisfaction (Proverbs 18:20).
- Use knowledge right.
- Use your words to heal.
- Be wise in spreading knowledge.
- Pray to speak the right words at the right time.
Father God,
We love You so much. Thank You for this word today. Thank You for the blessing of language, wisdom and understanding. Help us as we study Your word to grow in Your wisdom. May we always be saying doing the right things for the right reasons. Let our words glorify You. May we be humble and consider others needs before our own. Help us to seek peace and not the consolation of who is right and who is wrong. That truly doesn’t matter. Help us to be merciful as You are merciful. Help us to be loving and forgiving. We want to be like You in all we say and do. We do not always know what to say. Help us to react with wisdom in the face of opposition or adversary. We want to hear You say, Well done, my good and faithful one. We want Your blessing over us. Help us, Lord, as we navigate this world to use our words wisely. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
If you do not know Jesus but would like to know more about Him, including how you can be saved, please read the following blog titled,
You Never Let Us Go. God bless. https://thefathersfeet.wordpress.com/2020/01/07/you-never-let-us-go/
That is something my mother taught us. She would always say if you can not say anything that is nice do not say anything. As a child I had no idea what she meant. But as I grew older I saw just what she meant. Words hurt and word are powerful no wonder Jesus said that life in death is in the power of the tongue. I now choose to speak life instead of death. AMEN! Great post as always. β€π

I have heard before that saying as well. ‘If you can not say anything that is nice do not say anything at all,’ is a wonderful saying to go by.
Thanks for taking the time to comment. I always like hearing back what people think of certain things and I surely liked your comment today.
God bless you sis. Have a wonderful day. Hugs π and thank you for the encouragement! It was much needed.
May the Lord receive all glory. Great things He has done.

I needed this reminder. I do well with friends but those real close to me, like my husband has more harsh words then I care to admit. He is the one I need to speak kindness to. Love the song.

Which song did you like? Words or Well Done? Can you imagine when we stand face-to-face with the Lord? I just can’t even imagine. Everything else will certainly pale in comparison to that great day!
I am glad that the Lord used this post to minister to you today. He is so good. He loves us all so much.
Thank you for being so honest and open about your personal struggle. We all have struggles. The Lord is just taking us from glory to glory as He cleans us up. You will get there. The tongue is a hard thing to control. But we can do it with God’s help. He is our strength.
Just keep seeking Him. He will provide all of our needs according to His riches in Heaven. He knows we have needs in controlling our tongue. I will say a prayer for you. I, personally, can relate to the struggle.
God bless you. Thanks for taking the time to comment. π Hugs.

Of course, as a wife of a retired beekeeper, this is one of my favorite verses, “Kind words are like honey, sweet to the soul and healthy for the body.” (Proverbs 16:24). Thanks for reminding me to sweeten the conversation!

Amen! Thank you for the beautiful prayer. Choosing our words carefully is important because the right words can be a blessing but the wrong words can do much harm. Thanks Donna. π€
