Connecting with Jesus

If you have noticed, I include a prayer in each of my blogs. I do this to bring others before the Lord and to show young Christians that speaking to God is very easy to do. I do not pray so that people would think me to be special or anything of the sort because I am not. I honestly open my heart before the Lord and I share that with you. That is the connection that the Lord wants for each of us.

Our prayers do not have to follow a certain formula or have the most beautiful flowing words or be of any certain length. All that our prayers need to be is from our heart allowing full communication with the Lord. A surrender of our all, our thoughts, our hopes, our wishes, our dreams, our emotions, our burdens and our ideas. Every single thing that is on our mind we can share with the Lord. He knows our thoughts anyways (Psalm 94:11).

Luke 18:9-14 NKJV  Also He spoke this parable to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others: 10 “Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. 11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, ‘God, I thank You that I am not like other men—extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this tax collector. 12 I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I possess.’ 13 And the tax collector, standing afar off, would not so much as raise his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me a sinner!’ 14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”

No matter what you are going through, God hears your cry and He cares about every aspect of your life. Trust God and pray.

Dearest and most holy heavenly Father,

Oh, how we love You. Thank You for searching our hearts and for loving us in spite of ourselves. Please have mercy on us. Teach us to pray. Help us to release all of our heart to You. Thank You that we can trust You with our hearts. You are awesome. Be glorified in our surrendered lives in Jesus’ name. Amen.
