The Lord My Strength

El Sali is the Hebrew name for God meaning the Lord is my strength.

The pronunciation is el sah-LEE

There are so many times that I have used this name without even knowing it. I have just now learned that His Hebrew name is El Sali, but I have known Him as My Strength for quite some time. He has been my strength over and over again. I do not know how I would have gotten through some things without Him. In Scripture we see God as our strength in several places. Let’s look together at a few.

Psalm 18:1 NKJV I will love You, O Lord, my strength.

Psalm 46:1 NKJV God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble.

Exodus 15:2 NKJV The Lord is my strength and song,
And He has become my salvation;
He is my God, and I will praise Him;
My father’s God, and I will exalt Him.

Father God,

We are so thankful that You are our Strength. You have been there through so many tough times and have been faithful to carry us through. We praise and exalt You for that. You, the God of the universe, are with us wherever we go (Joshua 1:9). Thank You for giving us the strength we need to make it through some very challenging days. Nothing is too difficult for You (Jeremiah 32:17). Thank You that when we are weak, it is then that You display Your strength through us (Philippians 4:13). You are awesome and amazing. We love this name of Yours, El Sali-Our Strength. Continue to guide and direct us. May we grow in Your wisdom. May everything we do or say be pleasing to You. For we ask all things in Jesus’ name. Amen.
