Matthew 22:37 NKJV Jesus said to him, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’
The heart holds all of our emotions whether good or bad. We can choose to dwell on whichever ones that we want to. The Bible tells us to think on things that are true, noble, just, pure, lovely, of good report, virtuous and praise-worthy (Philippians 4:8). It is when we think on these things that we fill our hearts with the right emotions. Instead of feeding on negativity which produces fear, worry and hatred, we feed on the word of God and we do what He says for us to do in His word, which produces in us peace, strength, long suffering, compassion, love, joy, strength, kindness and patience.
Our heart must be right. We must be doing the right things for the right reasons. Are we consumed with the things of God? Are we excited to study His word? To pray? To honor God in all we say or do? To share Jesus with those that in our sphere of influence?
We are so thankful for Your goodness, love and mercy. You are always ready to forgive. All we have to do is cry out unto You, seek Your face and repent where we have failed You and there You are holding out Your arms of compassion. Thank You that You are merciful to ALL who call out to You (Psalm 86:5). We are calling for You to help us. We need Your strength for we cannot do this life without Your help. Help us to love You more. Teach us how to love like You love. We pray asking all things in Jesus’ name. Amen.
