The Truth Will Set You Free

John 17:17 NKJV  Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.

People deal with things much better when given the truth of a situation. Even when terrible circumstances are being faced, a person always want the truth. When a bad diagnosis hits, you want to know how long you may have left or what the prognosis is if involved in an accident….the list goes on and on. The point here is that truth makes things bearable.

When you have the truth, you can then address how you wish to proceed forward with all of the decisions you will have to make in life based on truth.

The Bible gives us truths that we can choose to apply to our lives.

  • Truth 1). There is only one true God. He has shown Himself in three Persons, the Father, the Son and the Spirit (Genesis 1:26-27, Matthew 3:16-17 & 28:18-20, Romans 1:7 & John 10:30 & 15:26).
  • Truth 2). There is a Heaven and a hell (Revelation 21:4-8).
  • Truth 3). God the Father sent His Son to save us from our sins (John 3:16). We were born into sin (Romans 5:12). We all have sinned and fell short of His glory (Romans 3:23).
  • Truth 4). Repent, confess your sin and ask Jesus (God the Son) into your heart to forgive you for your sin (1 John 1:9).
  • Truth 5). Get to a Bible believing church and be baptized for the remission of sin and for an outward show of an inner transformation (Acts 2:38).
  • Truth 6). Study His word (2 Timothy 2:15). Draw near to God and He will draw near to you (James 4:8).
  • Truth 7). Pray (Philippians 4:6). Just talk to God like you would talk to anyone. He knows what you are going through. He knows what is on your heart and what is in your mind anyways. Just be open and honest.

There are so many truths in the Bible. The above truths are a much needed first step in a right relationship with God. These are the steps to take so that you can have eternal security in the presence of God.

Pray with me please.

Father God,

We are so thankful for Your word. You have given us such truth in every single page. You have shown us that which is good and profitable for us in every single dealing that we have in our lives. You have us covered for everything that we may need. You are good. We ask that if any are reading and they do not know You as their personal Lord and Savior, that they would come to know You now. We praise and exalt You as Lord above all. Be with us and help us to witness to others about the truths of the gospel. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Here is a simple sinners prayer if you want to ask Jesus into your heart right now.

Dear God, I come to you in the name of Jesus. I admit to You that I am a sinner. I am sorry for my sins and the life that I have lived; I need your forgiveness.

I believe that Your only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, shed His precious blood on the cross at Calvary and died for my sins, and I am now willing to turn from my sin.

You said in the Bible that if we confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in our hearts that You raised Jesus from the dead, we shall be saved.

Right now I confess with my mouth, Jesus is my Lord. With my heart, I believe that You, God Almighty, raised Jesus from the dead. This very moment I accept Jesus Christ as my own Lord and personal Savior. According to Your Word, right now I know I am saved by the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

  1. Truth always sets us free. Sadly we do not always want to hear the truth. We get upset when we do. But we need to hear it. We automatically assume that they person who is speaking the truth to us is out to hurt us or that they have another agenda.

Telling the truth or hearing it is not always easy for us. But with God’s help we must do it.

    1. I wonder if your reply is an answer to my prayer. I have been debating and praying as to whether or not I should give a close relative unsolicited advice or not. I see the wrong that they have done and I am praying God tells me what to do as I do not want to damage the relationship. It has been a rocky one to begin with.
Anyways, thanks for commenting. Have a great day! Hugs ♡

      1. In those situations wait on God, If He tells you to do then sis you have to. Often times we do not speak the truth especially to those who we know because we do not want to offend them. But even Jesus said that the gospel is offensive. I know you will do the right thing as you allow the Holy Spirit to Guide you.

May hugs and kisses to you sis.💕🙏😍
