We All Need Jesus

You may have run across this blog and thought to yourself, ‘yeah she is a Christian, but I could never be good enough to come to God’. Let me tell you something. I have not always been as close to the Lord as I am now. I wish that I had been. I remember the sins that I did in my past. They make me so sad. I was all about me. I did whatever I wanted to do. I did whatever felt good to me at the time. I was so lost, without hope and without God.

remember that you were at that time separate from Christ, excluded from the people of Israel, and strangers to the covenants of the promise, having no hope and without God in the world.

Ephesians 2:12 NASB

I felt that I couldn’t go to church until I cleaned myself up (spiritually). Is that not the funniest thing? To think I could clean my sin drenched life up myself. I couldn’t. Only God can, could, would and did. I had put off going to church. I didn’t want to deal with it at the time. Though deep inside, I knew, He was the only One who could help me.

I just want you to know that there are no such things as lost causes with God. You are not worthless. You are not hopeless. Your life has purpose and meaning. God created you for a reason. In all of the world, there is only one you. How magnificent is our God!

Yes, I finally came to the Lord. I accepted His sacrifice of love that was given to all at the cross of Calvary (John 3:16). Jesus saved my soul. He and He alone cleaned me up spiritually. It took some time. He is loving and gentle. He didn’t do it all at once. Day by day and bit by bit He took off the old way of thinking and gave me new hope through His word and fellowship with Him.

I do not think I am so great. The only thing I cherish is the fact that God loved me enough to die for me, while I was still sinning. Now I want only to please Him in everything I do or say. I want my heart to be right in His sight. I pray that He continues to soften my heart and to help me walk in His ways for the rest of my life.

God cleaned me (a really bad sinner) up and He can clean you up also. Won’t you come to Him today to receive life brand new? He is waiting with arms open wide.

Father God,

We are so thankful for Your love. Your kind of love is so different than any kind of humanly love. You are so awesome in Your mercy and kindness. We ask today for any who may be reading and want to have a relationship with You, that their eyes would be opened to the truth of the great love that You have for them. May many come to You today and accept Your Son, Jesus, as their Savior. Please touch the lives of all reading. Draw us all closer to Your side. For we ask all things in Jesus’ name. Amen.
