Are You A Child of God?

2 Timothy 2:19 NASB  Nevertheless, the firm foundation of God stands, having this seal: “The Lord knows those who are His;” and, “Everyone who names the name of the Lord is to keep away from wickedness.”

If you are a child of God, you are to keep away from that which is evil. The above scripture is so comforting. Reread the first part, “The Lord knows those who are His.” Doesn’t that just melt your heart?! God knows those who are His children. The Almighty God, the Maker of Heaven and earth knows those who are His. If you are claiming Him, please know that He knows you. He sees you (Genesis 16:13). He hears your cries (Psalm 34:17). He knows you personally (Luke 12:7). He knows how you think, what your desires are and what you are doing. More importantly He knows the why’s of it all. He knows your heart (1 Samuel 16:7). Let us keep that in mind and be found doing and saying the right things, for the right reason, which is: out of honor and love for God… our Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. The One and only true God, Who is capable of doing more than we could ever ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20).

Father God,

We just want to take a moment today and thank You for being our God and for knowing our hearts. We love You with all of our hearts. Help us to walk in a way which is worthy of our calling (Ephesians 4:1 & 1 Thessalonians 4:1). Help us to turn away from evil and cling unto You. You are our only Hope in this world. We are so blessed to be called Your children. You, the God who made all things, know us! Praise Your holy name forever. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
