Luke 17:37 NLT “Where will this happen, Lord?” the disciples asked.
Jesus replied, “Just as the gathering of vultures shows there is a carcass nearby, so these signs indicate that the end is near.”
Jesus had just been explaining to His disciples what the days would be like when the Son of Man returns. You can read the whole chapter here. https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Luke+17&version=NKJV
Jesus said the world will be as it was in the days of Lot and like Noah’s day. People will be going about their daily business-eating, drinking, buying and selling, farming and building.
To see what the days of Lot were like read Genesis 18 and 19.
Here is a link to 2 Timothy 3 which tells of what times will be like in the last days. See if that is what you think things look like in our world today. https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=2%20Timothy%203&version=NKJV
Genesis 6:5 NKJV Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. 6 And the Lord was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart. 7 So the Lord said, “I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth, both man and beast, creeping thing and birds of the air, for I am sorry that I have made them.” 8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.
I pray that everyone reading today knows personally the grace of our Lord.
How sorrowful it is that You were grieved that You had ever made man. You saw that man’s hearts were evil continually. You provided The Way out from the impending judgement that is yet to come upon the earth. You gave Your Son, Who willingly laid down His life for all mankind, for any and all who would believe upon Him. You provided the Way to get away from our wickedness. We thank You today for the cross, the most extreme act of love that the world has ever known. Help us, in these wicked and evil days, to keep our eyes fixed on You. Lord, may our lives bring You glory. For we know our Redeemer lives. May we, like Noah, find grace in Your sight. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
