Sincerity of Heart

Acts 15:8-11 NKJV So God, who knows the heart, acknowledged them by giving them the Holy Spirit, just as He did to us, and made no distinction between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith. 10 Now therefore, why do you test God by putting a yoke on the neck of the disciples which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear? 11 But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved in the same manner as they.

God knows our hearts. He knows whether we are sincere or not. He gives His Holy Spirit to all who believe in Jesus Christ. We are saved by faith, not works. It is not of ourselves. It is a gift of God (Ephesians 2:8-9). It is not what we have done, rather what God has done. He has given us the gift of salvation through faith in Jesus. Upon believing, we are then are sealed (Ephesians 1:13), set apart (John 17:15-18), saved (Ephesians 2:8), sanctified (1 Corinthians 6:11) and set free (John 8:32).

We are not under a bunch of rules and regulations. Christ came and did what the rules and laws couldn’t do (Romans 8:3).

John 3:15 KJV That whosoever believeth on Him should not perish, but have eternal life.

John 3:16 KJV For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

John 3:17 KJV For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

The question therefore remains, are you saved? Do you know the Lord Jesus as your personal Savior? Are you washed by the blood of the Lamb? Is He ruler of your life or have you been faking it? Draw near to Him and he will draw near to you.

James 4:8 KJV Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.

Our loyalty should be to God and not to the world. No man can serve two masters Jesus said this in Matthew 6:24.

Choose this day who you will serve. As for me and my house we will serve the Lord (Joshua 24:15).

Jesus is Lord!

Father God,

We choose You. We choose to surrender our lives to You. We choose to serve You. We choose to walk hand in hand with You. We choose to do Your will and not our own. We choose to allow You all access to our heart, soul and mind. We choose to say and do the things which are pleasing in Your sight by Your power living in us. We choose to be Your ambassadors (2 Corinthians 5:20). We choose to meditate on You. In all of our choosing we are so thankful that You have chosen us first (John 15:16). You chose us and have us where we are for a reason. We submit to Your calling on our lives. We love You and praise You. Keep us strong in our resolve to put You first in all we do and say. Let Your will be done in our lives. Help us, as we submit to You, to love, encourage and build each another up. We need You Lord. Have Your way we pray. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
