John 8:50 NKJV And I do not seek My own glory; there is One who seeks and judges.
We are to follow Jesus and not seek our own glory, but we are to seek to glorify God in all that we think, do and say. He is the Judge.
1 Corinthians 10:31 NKJV Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.
Colossians 3:23 NKJV And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men
God will reward us in His time. If not in this world, than in the one to come. We are to do everything as unto the Lord and not to men. The Bible says whatever you do. That means serving, praying, teaching, preaching, giving, talking, working, managing, singing, parenting, soul-winning, tithing, etc. The word whatever encompasses everything that we do. Our sole intention should be honoring God in all we do, so that our lives would be a living testimony to His goodness and grace. Remember God knows our heart (1 Samuel 16:7). The question becomes, why are we doing the things that we are doing? If whatever we do isn’t honoring Him then we need to repent and ask God to forgive us. May our very motives always be pure and right in His sight.
This is such an important lesson for all of Your children. We shouldn’t just go all willy-nilly at everything without clear direction from You. Today, we come before You and if we have done anything that is not pleasing in Your sight, ask for forgiveness. Draw us in, Lord, so that we can see the truth that You have laid out before us. Help us that especially our motives would be right in Your sight. We want You to be pleased with us in everything that we think, do or say. Help us to remember that You are the Judge. We answer to You (Romans 14:12). Help us that whatever we do that we do it as we are doing it unto You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
