1 Kings 2:1-3 NKJV Now the days of David drew near that he should die, and he charged Solomon his son, saying: 2 “I go the way of all the earth; be strong, therefore, and prove yourself a man. 3 And keep the charge of the Lord your God: to walk in His ways, to keep His statutes, His commandments, His judgments, and His testimonies, as it is written in the Law of Moses, that you may prosper in all that you do and wherever you turn
Meditate on the word of God and obey that which you know to be truth according to His word. It is not enough to read His word. We have to ask Him to apply His word to our hearts that we might not sin against Him (Psalm 119:11). How will we know what His ways are if we do not read His word? How will we do what His ways are if we do not apply them to our lives? What are His ways, statutes, commandments, judgements, and testimonies that are written in the law of Moses?

We are not perfect and in this life we never will be, but we are to strive to be perfect (1 Peter 1:16). His word is truth (John 17:17) and is our guide (Psalm 73:24). We should want to try and please Him for all that He has done.
Read His word, child of God. Read His word and find out what He wants you to do with your life. All of the answers that you will ever need are contained in the Holy Bible.
Micah 6:8 KJV He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?
How can we walk humbly with Him if we aren’t reading His words?
2 Timothy 2:15 KJV Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Father God,
How wonderful You are. Indeed how marvelous are Your ways (Psalm 92:5). Where else would we ever get the words of wisdom which are contained in the pages of Your Holy Bible? There is no where else to turn. You have all of the answers written therein. You have supplied us with all that we need. Give us more of a desire to know You more. Help us to carve out the time to spend in Your presence. It is a blessing to spend time with You. May we realize that and draw ever so close to You. We are not perfect but through Christ we can do all things (Philippians 4:13). The thing that we want to do is know You more and walk in a way that is pleasing to You. Help us, Father, for Your children need You. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Great post Donna. I am slowly learning Jesus is my best friend, others fail in this category, and that’s OK. Have a good Sunday.
