Proverbs 21:16 KJV The man that wandereth out of the way of understanding shall remain in the congregation of the dead.
The person who willingly and knowingly turns away from the word of God, that he knows to be true) to walk in his own worldly lusts and according to the flesh, isn’t truly saved. Those who know God personally will be trying their best to walk along the path of righteousness for His name’s sake. Jesus said it the best in Matthew 7:21-23 NKJV 21“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’
The word Jesus uses here is practice. Those who daily make a willful choice to purposefully walk in the flesh.
When a person becomes saved (asks Jesus to come in to their heart) and they repent, they actually turn away from the old way of doing things and they grow and learn what God wants them to do. Good fruit or bad, everyone bears fruit (Matthew 7:16-20). A truly repentant heart will search the scriptures and God will transform the way they think and the things that they do (Romans 12:2). Yes, Christians make mistakes ( Mark 10:18 & Romans 3:23). But they do not purposefully walk in the way of the world.
This isn’t doing things to attain salvation. No! Rather it is doing things because we love God. Out of that love, we want to honor Him with the sacrifice of willing obedience to that which we know to be true according to His word. Then we will hear Him say, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.” Salvation is a free gift from God to all (Ephesians 2:8-9).
So be faithful! Stay strong in the Lord! Do not be wishy-washy. Do not be on the fence. Choose a side and stay there. Heaven or hell is a choice. God doesn’t send anyone there. They choose to go. What is your choice?
We love You so much. We are thankful for Your great love. Oh, how You bless our hearts with the knowledge of the great love that You have for all mankind (John 3:16). We ask today for a great anointing of Your Holy Spirit. Please keep us safe and on the right path. Help us to deny our flesh and live by the power of Your Spirit in us. We need You. We are weak and on our own, our very best works are like filthy rags before You (Isaiah 64:6). Help us to do better, to walk humbly, seek mercy and justice for the poor, orphaned and widows (Micah 6:8 & James 1:27). May we walk in a manner worthy of our calling. May everything we do bring You joy. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
