Exodus 34:6-7 KJV And the Lord passed by before him, and proclaimed, The Lord, The Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth,7 Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children’s children, unto the third and to the fourth generation.

Today’s verses were written after Moses had gone up to Mount Sinai to meet with God and receive the written word. These verses are God describing who He is to Moses.
Good morning Lord,
Thank You for describing Yourself to us. We praise You for all that You are. We thank You for being merciful and compassionate. You love us and have pity on us. We are Your children and You are a good Father. You do good for us not because of anything that we have done, but it is because that is who You are. There is nothing that we have to do to ‘earn’ Your love (Ephesians 2:8). You love us while we were still sinners (Romans 5:8). You gave Your only begotten Son’s life to show Your great love (John 3:16). What amazing love. What sacrifice. With gratitude we come before You and want to serve You. With love and adoration for all that You are and all that You have done, we cry holy, holy holy, Lord God Almighty who was and is and is to come. You are God and there is no other. None worthy of all of our praise but You. Oh, hallelujah all glory to the Lamb. Thank You for being slow to anger. Thank You for Your mercy. Thank You for forgiving our sins. You are just and You are holy! May Your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven (Matthew 6:10). We surrender to You and long to know You more. We are here Lord, use us. We magnify Your name. Have Your way in our surrendered lives. In Jesus’ name we pray (John 14:13). Amen.
