We Are No Longer Slaves to Sin

Since we have been united with him in his death, we will also be raised to life as he was. We know that our old sinful selves were crucified with Christ so that sin might lose its power in our lives. We are no longer slaves to sin. For when we died with Christ we were set free from the power of sin. And since we died with Christ, we know we will also live with him. We are sure of this because Christ was raised from the dead, and he will never die again. Death no longer has any power over him. 10 When he died, he died once to break the power of sin. But now that he lives, he lives for the glory of God. 11 So you also should consider yourselves to be dead to the power of sin and alive to God through Christ Jesus.

PaulRomans 6:5-11 NLT

We have been planted in Christ. Our sins (past, present and future) have been nailed to His cross. Never take for granted the huge sacrifice that was paid for our sins. That fact is a good reason not to serve the sinful nature. Be dead to it- having nothing to do with it. We serve Jesus who rose from the dead. He intercedes on our behalf. We are alive unto God through Jesus our Lord, with whom we will share everlasting life. Because of what He has done. Nothing that we have done (Ephesians 2:8-10). Our God is so good! Can I get an amen? Praise the Lord!

Pray with me please.

Father God,
You are so amazing. We are thankful for everything that You have done for us. We praise and adore You. You are good. You are holy. You are worthy of all praise. We ask to be emboldened with the power of Your Holy Spirit, that we would be able to resist any and all temptations or works of the flesh. May we keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). May we stay firm in Your word keeping our feet planted on the truths that we understand therein (Ephesians 6:11). We ask for Your strength and power to do the things that You have for us to do. Thank You for supplying all of our needs (Philippians 4:19). In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
