Yield Yourself to God

Do not let sin control the way you live; do not give in to sinful desires. 13 Do not let any part of your body become an instrument of evil to serve sin. Instead, give yourselves completely to God, for you were dead, but now you have new life. So use your whole body as an instrument to do what is right for the glory of God. 14 Sin is no longer your master, for you no longer live under the requirements of the law. Instead, you live under the freedom of God’s grace.

PAUL-Romans 6:12-14 NLT

There is always sin. There are bad thoughts, evil desires, and fleshly attitudes to name a few. They are always there trying to infiltrate our life with Christ. We know that all sin separates us from God (Isaiah 59:2-4). God is holy (1 Peter 1:15-16). Sin can ruin our homes, lives and testimony. That is why satan used it in the garden of Eden. He knew our weakness. But God stepped in and provided the Way out. We can overcome lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes and the pride of life through God by doing His will. He has given us His Holy Spirit to empower us (Acts 1:5). God will always provide a way out of temptation (1 Corinthians 10:13). We just have to trust Him.

Pray with me please.

Father God,

We praise You for making us in Your image and for giving us Your Holy Spirit after we have accepted Your Son Jesus as our Lord and Savior. We thank You that He intercedes for us. Lord. we want to be good representatives of Jesus while we are on this earth. We ask that You would continue molding and making us into usable vessels for Your kingdom. Help us to walk away from any and all temptations. We ask for wisdom to know when to walk away from situations that could be harmful to us. We do not want anything to come between us and our relationship with You. Thank You for Your great love and forgiveness that when we do sin, You are faithful to forgive a truly repentant heart and to restore us to right fellowship (1 John 1:9 & Psalm 32:5). You are our Master and not sin. May we continue to have nothing to do with sin by the power of Your Spirit living in us. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
