Wakeful Expectancy

And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.¹² The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.¹³ Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.¹⁴ But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.

Romans 13:11-14 KJV

Awake out of sleep! Now is not just the time but it is high time to awake out of sleep. Awake from carnal, worldly and old sinful ways of doing things. Awake from being lazy in our walk with the Lord. Awake from the barely getting by, mediocre and on the fence Christianity and become on fire for the Lord and His purposes. Awake from thinking we have it all in control and let Christ have His rightful place on the throne of our hearts, minds and souls.

We have to be ready for His appearing. He will be coming back for His bride (the church) ((1 Thessalonians 4:17)). When He comes, will we be ready? We will, if we stay in His word and in prayer. Continue to make Him (His ways, thoughts and purposes) the priority in all of our decisions in life. Through Christ we can do all things (Philippians 4:13). Without Him we can do nothing (John 15:5). It is time to study to show ourselves approved unto God, not being ashamed, but knowing the truth (2 Timothy 2:15). Jesus is the Truth (John 14:6). We shall know Him and He will make us free (John 8:32).

Father God,

You have taught us what is right and what is true. You have shown us how to walk as Your children. We willingly cast aside the flesh and its desires and choose to walk in Your light. We pray for Your empowerment in our lives. Oh, that we would live our lives in complete and total surrender to Your will. May we, being full of Your Spirit, shine so bright that we illuminate the world around us. May our lives be lived in honesty, truth, peace and contentment. May our very footsteps shake the satanic kingdom. Teach us to walk in a way that is pleasing to You so that we can accomplish Your will for our lives. Let nothing hinder Your purposes for our lives or come between us and You. We love You and with every breath we take we need You. Thank You for what You have done, will do and are doing in our lives. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
