For no one can lay another foundation than that which was laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, or stubble, 13 each one’s work will be revealed. For the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire, and the fire will test what sort of work each has done. 14 If anyone’s work which he has built on the foundation endures, he will receive a reward. 15 If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss. But he himself will be saved, still going through the fire.
1 Corinthians 3:11-15 MEV
Christ is often called the foundation; the stone; the cornerstone upon which the church is reared; Isaiah 28:16; Matthew 21:42; Acts 4:11; Ephesians 2:20; 2 Timothy 2:19; 1 Peter 2:6. The meaning is, that no true church can be reared which does not embrace and hold the true doctrines respecting him – those which pertain to his incarnation, his divine nature, his instructions, his example, his atonement, his resurrection, and ascension. The reason why no true church can be established without embracing the truth as it is in Christ is, that it is by him only that people can be saved; and where This doctrine is missing, all is missing that enters into the essential idea of a church. The fundamental doctrines of the Christian religion must be embraced, or a church cannot exist and where those doctrines are denied no association of people can be recognized as a church of God. Nor can the foundation be modified or shaped so as to suit the wishes of people. It must be laid as it is in the Scriptures; and the superstructure must be raised upon that alone.

Father God,
Thank You for another day and another opportunity to read Your precious word. You give us so much enlightenment therein. We are without excuse for ignorance, for You have supplied all that we need in the blessed pages of Your Holy Word (Romans 1). There is no other foundation than Jesus. We pray that You would continue to build us up in faith, love and obedience to You. Help us to be wise in Your salvation for ourselves and for the ability to witness to others of Your great salvation. You will have Your day of Judgement where every man’s work will be tried and You will reveal what is really in our hearts. We pray that we always be found doing, saying, and meditating on the right things for the right reasons. What rejoicing there will be in Your presence for those whose motives are genuine and pure. May we be wholly consecrated to doing Your will now. One day, everything that we have been through will be worth it all. Help us to always be mindful of what we are doing and ask ourselves, ‘does it line up with Your word?’ Help us, for we need You. Oh, Lord, let our hearts, minds and even motives be right in Your sight. May everything in our lives bring You pleasure. May Your will be done in every facet of our being. Oh, for the day when we can cast our crowns at Your feet. You are worthy. We love and adore You. Praying always and only in Jesus’ name. Amen.

If you do not know Jesus but would like to know more about Him, including how you can be saved, please read the following blog titled, You Never Let Us Go. God bless. https://thefathersfeet.wordpress.com/2020/01/07/you-never-let-us-go/
