18 Now all of us, whether Jews or Gentiles, may come to God the Father with the Holy Spirit’s help because of what Christ has done for us.
Ephesians 2:18-22 tlb
19 Now you are no longer strangers to God and foreigners to heaven, but you are members of God’s very own family, citizens of God’s country, and you belong in God’s household with every other Christian.
20 What a foundation you stand on now: the apostles and the prophets; and the cornerstone of the building is Jesus Christ himself! 21 We who believe are carefully joined together with Christ as parts of a beautiful, constantly growing temple for God. 22 And you also are joined with him and with each other by the Spirit and are part of this dwelling place of God.
We, as Christ followers, now have the pleasure and privilege to come before God, not only is He our King but He is now our Father also. The Holy Spirit now leads and guides us. God is able to perfect that which concerns us (Psalm 138:8). Through His Holy Spirit living in us, He will work out His plans for our lives as we submit to Him (James 4:7), draw near to Him (James 4:8) and lean on Him not ourselves (Proverbs 3:5-8).
Jesus is our firm Foundation (Matthew 7:24-27), and we have access to God the Father through Him (Romans 5:1-2). We are taught by the Holy Spirit whom the Father has sent in Jesus’ name. He guides us in all truth (John 16:13). He brings all things to our remembrance (John 14:26). That is why before we read scripture, we should pray that God would open our eyes to the truths contained in His word (1 Corinthians 2:10). The Holy Spirit even helps us when we pray (Romans 8:26). The Holy Spirit gives us power to be Jesus’ witnesses (Acts 1:8). No one can say “Jesus is Lord” except in the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 12:3).
Father God,
Thank You for Your many blessings. Thank You for loving us so much and restoring us to fellowship with You through the blood of Jesus. Thank You for Your Holy Spirit who leads and guides us in all Your truths. Wow we have such power flowing through us because of Your free gift of love and mercy. Thank You that our names are written down in Heaven (Luke 10:20). May Your Holy Spirit fill us so that we can accomplish Your purposes through our submitted lives. May we walk in Your fullness and power. Let us be witnesses of Yours to this world. Unite us through Your Spirit. We acknowledge that You are God and that You reward those who diligently seek You (Hebrews 11:6). We seek Your favor, grace and mercy. Help us to be all that You have created us to be. We plead the blood of Jesus over our homes, health and families. May Your kingdom come and Your will be done (Matthew 6:10). In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
