Smashing Mirrors

One verse from God’s word can give us so much strength, hope and encouragement.

16 You did not choose Me, but I chose you, and appointed you, that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that the Father may give you whatever you ask Him in My name.

John 15:16 MEV

Have you ever heard the lies that you were nothing? Maybe you heard that you weren’t good enough or that your life had no meaning or value. I say it is time to smash the mirrors. Actual mirrors are how we see ourselves according to the reflection in the glass. But we also see ourselves according to what people have said about us. The mirrors with the wrong message are the mirrors that should be smashed. We can smash them with the word of God.

If someone says or has said that you were nothing and your life had little or no value, instead of believing that lie, SMASH it! Cover it with the above verse. Tell yourself the truth and look at yourself in the mirror of God’s word. Allow God to write His word on your heart (read His word and write down scriptures where you can easily see them during the day ((Deuteronomy 11:18 & Psalm 119:11)). See yourself how He sees you. God says: You are His masterpiece created in Christ Jesus to do good things Ephesians 2:10). God says: You are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). God says: You were made in His image (Colossians 3:10). God says: He chooses you, He wants you, He appoints you and He has placed you where you are (John 15:16).

Pray with me please.

Father God,
How wonderful and amazing You are. You have given us the power to speak life to ourselves and to others. You have given us the voice and You have given us the power behind the voice with Your words to smash the mirrors of garbage that we have believed for all too long. Oh, Lord, You lovingly replace all the junk. Lord, You know that a smashed mirror has such a distorted view. Help us to look instead in the mirror of Your love, your truths and Your life as the song below attests to. We love You. Your children are broken and we need the hands of Yours, our great Healer to pick up the shards from the broken mirrors and replace them with the truths that are found only in You. May Your will be done in our surrendered lives. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

  1. Life and death are in the power of the tongue. My mother taught us that if we cannot say anything good about a person then do not say anything.

At the time I thought how crazy that is. As I grew up I saw just how right she was.

      1. Thank you, sis. I am doing good. My daughter and my granddaughter who is 4 yrs. old both contracted that virus. it has been a week for them both, and though their symptoms are going away they still are positive. Doctor said it will take time for that to change. But I am still thankful because it could have turned out a totally different God has been good.
I prayed more in the last week that I can count. Praying for them in the morning, in the afternoon, before I go to bed and even while I am sleeping, I wake up praying for them. Then my husband told me that his sister and brother-in-law contracted the virus as well.
Right now, I am in overload I feel worn down and I am tired. Trying to stay strong and checking in on them through out the day. It has been hard on me as a parent and grandmother. I know it is hard on my daughter and son in law.
Thankfully, my son in Law and my grandson did not contract the virus. Which makes it easier for her husband to help take care of them two. I am sure he is tired too. I pray that God would destroy this virus, you know.
I do so appreciate how you always ask how I am doing? May God bless and keep you and yours safe.

      2. Sis, I am so glad that you decided to share with me. Thank you for trusting me with all this. That sure is a lot of stress on you. I know how much it hurts when our loved ones get sick. I just went through it with my daughter who lives 8 hours drive away. She didn’t want to but got the vaccine as she is a nurse. She still contracted covid. She had pneumonia, covid, a UTI and another infection all together. Thank God she is ok now. She jokingly said afterward that she wouldn’t recommend that cocktail to anyone. I prayed for her a couple times. But I had peace knowing that no matter what she is in God’s hands. I trust Him. No matter what He decides. There is such peace when we trust Him. I have found that it is best to praise Him through any and all storms. He provides such calm. I know at times in my past I would be so anxious and worried. I am so glad that I have learned to lean on Him. Oh, He is so good. Let me pray with you sis.
Lord God, You are good. You are Father of all creation. We are so thankful for the family that You have blessed each of us with. We praise You for Your beauty in Your creations. Thank You that Your hand of protection is upon them. You will grant health to them. We trust You that Your will will be done in their lives. If they do not know You as their Lord please draw them close to You. For salvation is most important.
Lord, I ask that You would give strength, comfort and peace to my sister, Your daughter Desiray. Be her strength when she is weak. Shine through her. Give her peace that passes all understanding. Lord, You created us with a heart that has such concern and love for our family members. Help us to always trust You with them. You have everything in Your control. We can let go and let You do what You do. You are our solid Rock. Where else could we go but to You, Lord? There is no other. We love You. We plead the blood of Jesus over our homes, family, and health. We claim Your word which says no weapon that is formed against us will prosper. We speak life and peace to our family members. Oh, Lord thank You for Your great love. We love You so much! We ask all these things in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Be blessed sister. Have peace. Sending love your way. β™‘β™‘β™‘

      3. My sister in Christ Jesus, thank you for such a beautiful prayer. I receive it all. It is such a blessing to know that we the body of Christ join in prayer praying for one another. No matter where we live no distance can stop the body of Christ for being there for us in prayer.

Oh, how I thank My Lord for the gift of Salvation. Have a wonderful day in the Lord today. I am happy to hear that your daughter is doing much better. God is so good to His children. AMEN
