Why are you cast down, O my soul?
David-Psalm 43:5 MEV
And why are you disquieted within me?
Hope in God;
for I will yet give Him thanks,
the salvation of my countenance and my God.
We can learn from David to encourage ourselves in the Lord. We need to encourage ourselves to hope in God. In our deepest depths of despair, we should cry unto God. Thank Him and praise Him before we receive our answer. He is God. He is worthy of our praise. He will turn our mourning into dancing (Psalm 30:11). We serve such a great God. There is nothing He cannot do. He is all powerful, all knowing, all seeing, all merciful, all loving and all good. Sing the following old hymn with me. Do you remember it? Isn’t He wonderful, wonderful yes wonderful? Isn’t Jesus my Lord wonderful?
Deep calls to deep
David-Psalm 42:7 mEV
at the noise of Your waterfalls;
all Your waves and Your billows
passed over me.
When writing Psalm 42, the Psalmist coined the phrase “deep calls to deep” to describe the place where our deep need meets God’s all-sufficient presence.

Father God,
We cry out to You today. For our lives, our homes, our children, our spouses and other family members, our schools, our country and this world. We ask that Your kingdom come, and Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven (Matthew 6:10). We desperately need You. Thank You for always being there for us. You are so awesome. You are merciful. You are loving. You are so kind. You are good to us. Thank You for every provision that You have supplied us with. May we grow in the knowledge and understanding of Your word. May everything we think, do or say bring You joy. We ask for Your peace. May Your Holy Spirit flood our homes. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
If you do not know Jesus but would like to know more about Him, including how you can be saved, please read the following blog titled, You Never Let Us Go. God bless. https://thefathersfeet.wordpress.com/2020/01/07/you-never-let-us-go/
