Now, brothers, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which you have received, and in which you stand. 2 Through it you are saved, if you keep in memory what I preached to you, unless you have believed in vain.
paul-1 Corinthians 15:1-2
The Gospel is the Good News that Jesus saves! In order to receive the message, we must listen. God gave us the gift of Salvation through His Son Jesus. It is then our choice to accept or reject His gift. If we receive Jesus as our Savior, we must stand firm in that which we know to be truth. We trust Him completely (His birth, death, burial and resurrection) to save us from the penalty of sin. Salvation is all about what God has done for us, not what we can do for Him. What we do, we do out of love for Him and what He has already done for us. But we can and must never try to buy or earn our way into Heaven. That would be a recipe for failure. Remember we are saved by grace through faith, not of works (Ephesians 2:8-9). The Only Way to Heaven is in a right relationship with Jesus, the Son of God (Matthew 16:15-16, John 3:16 & 14:6).
Father God,
Oh, how wonderful You are. You gather Your children in Your arms. We sing along with the song You are our strength when we are weak. You are the treasure that we seek. You are our all in all.
You are worthy of our praise. We love and adore You, Lord. Holy art thou! Hosannah! Glory to You forever! Help us to be Your witnesses in word and in deed. May we share the Good News that Jesus saves! Jesus is Lord! Salvation has come to mankind and is a Gift we can either choose to accept or reject. May all who are reading today accept Your precious Gift if they haven’t already. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
