Today’s word comes from Proverbs 5. You can read the whole account following link. https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Proverbs+5&version=KJV,NLT
The message is to avoid immoral women. The reader is to pay attention and listen carefully. Though the seductress may look beautiful and speak seductively, in the end she is as bitter as poison and as dangerous as a double-edged sword. What she is doing is taking her straight to hell, for she cares nothing about the path to life.
She is to be avoided. Do not go to her house. If anyone does, they will lose their honor and all that they might have previously achieved. The Bible also says:10 Strangers will consume your wealth, and someone else will enjoy the fruit of your labor.11 In the end you will groan in anguish when disease consumes your body.
So don’t hate discipline and do not ignore these warnings. Listen and pay attention. As this message could be for women also who are to avoid immoral men. Share your love with your spouse only. Be satisfied with one another.
21 For the Lord sees clearly what a man does,
examining every path he takes.
22 An evil man is held captive by his own sins;
they are ropes that catch and hold him.
23 He will die for lack of self-control;
he will be lost because of his great foolishness.
Make a commitment to your spouse. Join together with them and pray this prayer together.
Father God,
Today we bring our marriages before You. Your word gives a lot of clear advice on how we are to avoid immorality. We ask for Your blessings to be poured down upon us as we serve each other. You created the institute of marriage. You said it was not good for man to be alone. You made a helper for him (Genesis 2:18). Help each person reading to be satisfied with their spouse. May they feel the same excitement that they did when they first met. May they find joy in each other no matter what they are doing. May they be able to laugh together and when needed hold the other when they cry. May each person honor each other above themselves, seeking the good of the other. May our intimacies be for each other only. Help us to honor You by being satisfied and honoring each other. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
