Definition of Foolish

The fool has said in his heart,
    “There is no God.”
They are corrupt, and have done abhorrent injustice;
    there is none who does good.
God looked down from heaven
    on the children of men,
to see if there were any who have insight,
    who seek God.
Every one of them has turned aside;
    they are altogether corrupt;
there is no one who does good,
    not even one.
Have the workers of iniquity no knowledge,
    who eat up my people as they eat bread,
    and do not call on God?
There they were in fear,
    where there was nothing to fear,
for God has scattered the bones of him who camps against you;
    you have put them to shame, because God has rejected them.
Oh, that the salvation of Israel would come out of Zion!
    When God brings back the captivity of His people,
    Jacob will rejoice and Israel will be glad.

psalm 53

The Bible says that the beginning of wisdom is to fear God (Proverbs 9:10). How can we fear Him if we do not believe that He is God? We have to have faith in order to please Him (Hebrews 11:6).

We are all, by nature, corrupt. We are all sinners. Only a fool would say that there is no God. There will be consequences to those who deny God.

 19 For what may be known about God is clear to them since God has shown it to them. 20 The invisible things about Him—His eternal power and deity—have been clearly seen since the creation of the world and are understood by the things that are made, so that they are without excuse.
21 Because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him or give thanks to Him as God, but became futile in their imaginations, and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Claiming to be wise, they became fools.

paul-romans 1:19-22 mev

Father God,
We are so thankful for Your amazing love for mankind. Thank You for the blood of Jesus. You through Him have redeemed us and set us free (John 3:16). We were once enemies of Yours but are now friends of Yours because of the sacrifice that Your Son made on the cross (Romans 5:10). You saw the great need for a Savior for Your creation, and You provided for us even while we were yet sinners (Romans 5:8)! What great love You have. Help us to emulate that love. The world can hate so easily, help us to just love easily. Help us to love the unlovable. We ask for Your mercy on us and on those who do not know You, yet. May we be strong witnesses to this world of Your great love. May others see You in us is our cry. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
