12 And I will continue doing what I am doing, that I may cut off the opportunity from those who desire an opportunity to be found equal to us in what they boast about. 13 For such are false apostles and deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. 14 And no wonder! For even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. 15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also disguise themselves as ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works.
Paul-2 Corinthians 11:12-15
There are some people who are not true believers, and they are out there preaching a false doctrine. They do not know Jesus, so how can they teach of that which they do not know? Do not be deceived. Pray for clarity and wisdom. If whatever your teacher or preacher says does not line up with the word of God, then leave. If you are a strong enough Christian, you can confront them first and give them the opportunity to accept the truth. However, if they refuse to hear the truth, then walk away.
The Narrow Way
Jesus-Matthew 7:13-20 NKJV
13 “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. 14 Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.
You Will Know Them by Their Fruits
15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. 16 You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? 17 Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Therefore by their fruits you will know them.
We are not to believe every spirit, but to try them to see
if they are from God. For there are many false prophets. The Bible says this is how we will know: Every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. And is the spirit of the antichrist (1 John 4:1-3).
31 Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. 32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
Jesus-John 8:31-32 NKJV
Abide (live, dwell) in His word. We have to study to show ourselves approved unto God (2 Timothy 2:15). This is serious. To Him that knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin (James 4:17).
Father God,
Help us to see with our spiritual eyes the truth all around us. May we always and only walk in a way which is pleasing unto You. May we have the wisdom and strength to reject false teaching. Please continue to flood our hearts with Your Holy Spirit so that we would be ready to accomplish Your purposes for our lives. May the lives that we touch be forever changed because of Your goodness in us. Thank You for Your extreme love for humanity. We need that love, Father. We are asking all things in Your Son Jesus’ name. Amen.
