What do People See?

³⁰ The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life,
    and he who wins souls is wise.

The fruit is that which is evidenced in our lives is that which people see. Are we producing love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control? Those are the fruits of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). That fruit is a tree of life which encourages others and draws them closer to God. A person who uses all the talents that they have to bring others to repentance from sins, faith and holiness in God is wise.

But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.

James 3:17 NKJV

Pray with me please.

Father God,
You are so good and Your mercy endures forever (1 Chronicles 16:34). You have such great love for mankind. Thank You for adopting us into Your family through the precious blood of Christ (Galatians 4:4-5 & John 3:16). Thank You for Your Holy Spirit’s guidance (John 16:13) and power (Acts 1:8). Help us as we surrender our lives to You that we would produce fruit worthy of repentance (Matthew 3:8). May we prove by the way that we live that we have repented of our sins and turned to You. Oh, that others would see, sense and feel Your power at work in us. May they come to know You because of the mercy and love that we show them which You have shown us. May all the things we meditate on, do or say bring You joy. We love You and want to hear You say, “Well done.”
May Your kingdom come and Your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven (Matthew 6:10). In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
