7 Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says:
Hebrews 3:7-15 NKJV
“Today, if you will hear His voice,
8 Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion,
In the day of trial in the wilderness,
9 Where your fathers tested Me, tried Me,
And saw My works forty years.
10 Therefore I was angry with that generation,
And said, ‘They always go astray in their heart,
And they have not known My ways.’
11 So I swore in My wrath,
‘They shall not enter My rest.’ ”
12 Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God; 13 but exhort one another daily, while it is called “Today,” lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. 14 For we have become partakers of Christ if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end, 15 while it is said:
“Today, if you will hear His voice,
Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.”
Do not say to yourself, God won’t care if… or I know it will be ok if I just do this one thing God doesn’t like…. Don’t sell yourself those lies. What happens is we try to cover up sin just like Eve did in the garden. That is when satan can manipulate us and we sin. You see big or little all sin is disgusting before the Lord. He does care, so do not take that first step in hardening your heart. Pray for a softened heart, pliable to do the will of our Master.
Father God,
You are so good to Your children. Thank You for everything that You do for us. Help us to not believe any lies from the flesh, satan or any of his minions. May we not take the first bite of his hook. Help us to stay spiritually minded. May we always and only put You first and do the things which we know are pleasing to You. We trust You completely with every aspect of our lives. Be glorified in our surrendered lives. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
