Pure in Heart

Blessed are the pure in heart,
For they shall see God.

Matthew 5:8 NKJV

Are we devoted to God? Are we devoted to doing, saying and even meditating on the things of God, the will of God and the way He wants us to do things? Is it our desire to please Him in all things?

No, we are not perfect. Jesus will cleanse us by His blood upon acceptance of Him and with the water of His word. Will we make mistakes? Oh, I am sure that we will. The question is, what will we do with those mistakes? Repentance is the key. Forgiveness and mercy are our choices. God knows our hearts. May He always find us doing thinking and saying the right things for the right reasons.

Father God,
You know our hearts. We praise You and thank You for drawing us closer to You through the washing of Your word. May we always be found to be pleasing in Your sight in all of our thoughts, actions and words. We want to be honest, holy and pure. If there is anything we have done wrong we ask for Your forgiveness. Cleanse us and we shall be whiter than snow. We cry along with the psalmist for You to create in us a pure heart (Psalm 51:10). That may seem like a tall order to some but we know that You are able and we are willing. May Your kingdom come and Your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
