Lead By Example

So practice and obey whatever they tell you, but don’t follow their example. For they don’t practice what they teach. They crush people with unbearable religious demands and never lift a finger to ease the burden.
“Everything they do is for show. On their arms they wear extra wide prayer boxes with Scripture verses inside, and they wear robes with extra long tassels. And they love to sit at the head table at banquets and in the seats of honor in the synagogues. They love to receive respectful greetings as they walk in the marketplaces, and to be called ‘Rabbi.’
“Don’t let anyone call you ‘Rabbi,’ for you have only one teacher, and all of you are equal as brothers and sisters. And don’t address anyone here on earth as ‘Father,’ for only God in heaven is your Father. 10 And don’t let anyone call you ‘Teacher,’ for you have only one teacher, the Messiah. 11 The greatest among you must be a servant. 12 But those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.

Jesus-Matthew 23:3-12 NLT

Jesus was giving instructions to not follow the examples of the teachers of religious law and the Pharisees. They were saying one thing and doing another. A true leader leads by example. This person will show others they are guiding how to do things by much prayer, openness and honesty. A true leader will be a humble person of character and integrity. One who follows closely to the Lord and is ever listening for Him to guide them in all aspects of their lives. A true leader is not proud or haughty. They have no thoughts of grandeur. Their one main goal is to serve the Lord in whatever way He leads them.

I will put the link here for the entire chapter of Matthew here and you can read on more of what Jesus said pertaining to the woes He pronounced upon the teachers of religious law and the Pharisees for their hypocrisy. https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew+23&version=NKJV;NLT

And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

Colossians 3:17 NKJV
Pray with me please.

Father God,
You are so worthy of our praise. How wonderful and holy You are. How loving, kind, compassionate and merciful You are. Thank You so much for every single thing that You do. There are things that You are protecting us from that we do not even realize. You are so awesome. Today we ask that You would guide us deeper into the truths of Your word. Help us to be true representatives of Yours while here on this earth. May every thing we think, do and say be right in Your sight. May our motives be pure and blameless. May we be led by Your Holy Spirit at all times. Help us to never be led by the flesh or the world. May we never succumb to the devils tempting’s. We yield to You and Your power and ask You to do mighty works through our surrendered lives for Your glory. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

  1. Good morning, {{{Donna}}}. I am praying with you today, Dear Lord, “May every thing we think, do and say be right in Your sight.” Guide our feet and our tongues today that where we go what we say may be in Your Will and May bring You glory. Amen 🙏🏽 I am going in to Bozeman today to help celebrate my great-grandson’s 5th birthday. It’s at an arcade with lots of games and space to run wild. That should be fun! What’re your weekend plans?

    1. Hugs Jan. Today is my Sabbath. I rest on this day. So not many plans. I did finish my American flag crocheted throw. Tomorrow we will be celebrating our aunt’s 76th birthday. Your party sounds like fun. Those memories will last a lifetime. So glad you are able to spend time with your great grandson. God bless you all. 💜
