And The Graves Were Opened

 Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.
51 And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;
52 And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,
53 And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.
54 Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God.

Matthew 27:50-54 KJV

Through Jesus’s death we have access to God. The veil was torn. There is no more separation. Jesus did what no one else could ever do. He bridged the gap. I have read the New Testament quite a few times. Today verses 52 and 53 jumped out at me. The Bible doesn’t go into a lot of detail about who the saints were. We do see though that the bodies arose and even appeared unto many. Oh, for the day that we have a glorified body and nothing more is hidden from us. We shall see Jesus face to face (1 John 3:2). Death shall be swallowed up with victory (1 Corinthians 15:54). Hallelujah! Praise the Lord!

Pray with me please.

Father God,
How awesome You are. We are truly thankful for all that You have done, will do and are doing for us. We do not thank You enough for Your greatness. Help us to be better. Draw us closer to You. Help us to shine for You while on this earth. When our time here is over, we want to be able to run into Your arms. No more division, no more seeing in a mirror dimly. We long for that day. We so want to hear You say, “Well done.” You have promised to give us the strength that we need. We are totally relying on You. What else do we need? You have all the answers. We trust You. Move through us in a mighty way. Let our lives be pleasing in Your sight. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
