All or Nothing

38 He said to them in His teaching, “Beware of the scribes, who love to go about in long robes and love greetings in the marketplaces, 39 and the prominent seats in the synagogues, and the places of honor at banquets, 40 who devour widows’ houses and for a pretense make long prayers. They will receive greater condemnation.”

Mark 12:38-40 MEV

There is no ‘fake it till you make it’ in Christianity. You either have accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior or you haven’t. There is no middle ground. There is no other way to be saved other than Jesus (John 14:6). Your good works will not get you in to Heaven (Isaiah 64:6).

Jesus said you are either hot or cold. If you are lukewarm, He will spit you out of His mouth (Revelation 3:16). We are to love God with ALL of our heart, mind and soul. We are to love our neighbor as ourselves (Luke 10:27).

We need Jesus. We must show true repentance for our sins (Matthew 4:17), confess (1 John 1:9) and believe in God (Hebrews 11:6). Then we ‘walk the walk’. Not for self-glorification but for Jesus’ glory, knowing that He sees everything (Hebrews 4:13). Some day we will all have to give account for what we have said and done while on this earth with what little time that we have had (Matthew 12:36 & 2 Corinthians 5:10). It is a sobering thought to stand before our awesome God. He will be arrayed in splendor, strength, majesty and power (Psalm 96:6 & 104:1). What will we do in His presence?

Pray with me please.

Father God,
What a great God You are. What a mighty God we serve. You are holy, righteous and true. You have given us so many good things. We are thankful for our very lives and the opportunities that You have given us to be the witnesses of Yours that we need to be. We thank You for Your great Holy Spirit’s power and strength that is operating through us as Your children. We ask that You would continue to hold us in Your hand. There is no place that we would rather be than at Your feet learning and in Your presence. We are blessed. You are good. You are worthy of all our praises. May Your joy fill our hearts and flood our homes and neighborhoods. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

  1. We are so blessed to rest in His reassuring grace! Have a great rest of the week, {{{Donna}}} – I am resting on His promises – and taking a break as I comfort my dear loved ones who are grieving in our nursing home.

      1. Thank you. My friend, Bernice, had her fervent prayer answered yesterday. She went to join her husband, Ralph, who died a week ago. What a grand reunion that must have been! These high school sweethearts were married 70 years ❤️❤️

      2. Awwwww It is so wonderful to know that we will see our loved ones again once we pass through the death of this body and are clothed with life eternal with Christ.
While we who are left behind grieve their loss, we have that hope. May the Lord comfort you as you grieve the loss of your friends. Hugs sister.
