If Jesus is Your Lord, then Listen to Him

⁴⁶ “But why do you call Me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do the things which I say? ⁴⁷ Whoever comes to Me, and hears My sayings and does them, I will show you whom he is like: ⁴⁸ He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently against that house, and could not shake it, for it was founded on the rock. ⁴⁹ But he who heard and did nothing is like a man who built a house on the earth without a foundation, against which the stream beat vehemently; and immediately it fell. And the ruin of that house was great.”

Luke 6:46-49 NKJV

As we grow in the Lord, we learn that we need to take what is said in the word of God and apply these things to our heart. That is the growing part. I am here to tell you that it is not always easy. Between the world, the flesh and the devil all trying to get us to do things their way, it may seem hard to do. Rest assured that we are not alone in our struggles. God is there with us. All that we have to do is call on Him.

He hears, cares and will answer when we cry. What we are to do is to walk, think and talk in a new way (Romans 12:1-2). This new way draws us and others closer to Christ.

Father God,
You are awesome, holy and righteous. there is none like You. Thank You for the compassion that You show as we walk along this road. You are a good Father. We adore You. May we always turn to You in the face of any and all problems. When any situation arises, we pray that we would automatically turn to You, knowing that You are there to help at all times. Draw us so close to You, Lord. May everything that we think, do and say be pleasing in Your sight. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
