What are We Seeking?

Then Jesus turned, and seeing them following, said to them, “What do you seek?”
They said to Him, “Rabbi” (which is to say, when translated, Teacher), “where are You staying?”
39 He said to them, “Come and see.” They came and saw where He was staying, and remained with Him that day (now it was about the tenth hour).
40 One of the two who heard John speak, and followed Him, was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother. 41 He first found his own brother Simon, and said to him, “We have found the Messiah” (which is translated, the Christ). 42 And he brought him to Jesus.
Now when Jesus looked at him, He said, “You are Simon the son of Jonah. You shall be called Cephas” (which is translated, A Stone).
43 The following day Jesus wanted to go to Galilee, and He found Philip and said to him, “Follow Me.”

John 1:38-43 NKJV

Jesus asked the people what did they seek? They were seeking the Messiah. Was He the One that was to come? He sure was. Jesus invites us all today as well. He is knocking on heart’s doors everywhere calling people to Himself. He wants the lost to “Come and see” and to Follow Him.
We are all born with an emptiness that only He can fill. We try to fill with other things and all the while Jesus is waiting. He is calling for us to follow Him. In Him is life and love everlasting. He is our joy and strength. He is Lord evermore. If you do not know Him, please listen to Him calling you even now to Follow Him.

If you would like to know more about following Jesus, including how you can be saved, please read the following blog titled, You Never Let Us Go. God bless.

Pray with me please.

Father God,
Blessed are You. High and lofty is where You are seated. You are above all and You choose to live in all. You have given us so many things to be thankful for. We are thankful for every breath that we take. Our eyes behold such beautiful things in Your creation and we give You thanks for all of it. We seek You and Your righteousness. We long to live lives that are honorable. We want You to be pleased with us. Help us to grow in You and learn more of what Your will is for our lives. We give You all the thanks and praise. May Your kingdom come and Your will be done. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
