Why oh, why is it so hard to control the tongue? The Bible says that the tongue is an unruly member (James 3:6) and indeed it is! It is so hard to be patient at times and always give a soft answer, yet that is what God wants from us as Christ followers.
Father God,
Thank You so much for showing us the Way. You are the definition of perfection. Please help us to be loving, patient and kind like You are. We ask for a guard to be put on the doorway to our mouths (Psalm 141:3). Help us to remain silent when needed. We pray for those soft answers to come from us when You want us to speak. We deny the flesh and ask for Your Spirit to come alive in us. Rock the earth where we stand. May others see us and know that we serve the true one and only Living God. Thank You for the word today. Please bless us all and draw us all so close to Your side. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
