8 Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves;
Proverbs 31:8-9 NLT
ensure justice for those being crushed.
9 Yes, speak up for the poor and helpless,
and see that they get justice.
We are to cry out for those who cannot cry out for themselves (orphan, stranger). We are to stand up for the poor and needy against others who would harshly abuse or belittle them. That is the ones who we are to seek justice for. For true religion in the sight of God is to take care of orphans and widows and to keep ourselves unspotted from the world (James 1:27).
Father God,
We just want to thank You for the many blessings that You have given to Your children. Your love is immeasurable. We sing Your praise. You are glorious. All of Your ways are perfect. There is none who could ever compare to You. We ask for Your wisdom, strength and courage to power us in making the right decisions in all of our interactions with others. May our words be Your words. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
