God’s Special People

⁴ Coming to Him as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God and precious, ⁵ you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. ⁶ Therefore it is also contained in the Scripture,
“Behold, I lay in Zion
A chief cornerstone, elect, precious,
And he who believes on Him will by no means be put to shame.”
⁷ Therefore, to you who believe, He is precious; but to those who are disobedient,
“The stone which the builders rejected
Has become the chief cornerstone,”
⁸ and
“A stone of stumbling
And a rock of offense.”
They stumble, being disobedient to the word, to which they also were appointed.
⁹ But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; ¹⁰ who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.

1 Peter 2:4-10 NKJV

Pray with me please.

Father God,
We praise You. We exult You. We shout with the four living creatures in Heaven, “holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.” You have done so many wonderful things for Your children. You have moved mountains, healed the sick, gave vision to the blind and raised the dead. You have created this world and everything that is in it. You have given us life. You have called us. We are Your children. We are chosen, royal, holy and Your very own special people! Thank You for calling us out of the darkness and into Your glorious light! Thank You for Your mercy! Thank You for the encouragement we receive in Your word. Thank You that You have not only called us but the fact that You have chosen us. May we all grow in You and may we all understand just how very much You love us and not only do You love us but You have chosen us! Everything good that we are is because of You and what You have given to us. You are our Light, Strength and Hope. We love You so much! May Your kingdom come and Your will be done. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
