Shine Your Light, oh Christian

Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”

John 8:12 NKJV

I have fond memories of my foster dad singing the song below at church. I do thank God for the Lighthouse. I would have sank under the heavy load of sin if it wasn’t for the Light.

Father God,
We are so thankful for Your Light. Jesus is our Lighthouse. He has shown the Light for us to clearly see our sins and need for a Savior. We thank You for the Light He gives. We thank You for the light He places inside of us. He said that those who follow Him will have the light of life! That is so amazing to us. The knowledge that we (Your children) have the light of life living in us. We ask that You shine so brightly through us. We want to illuminate the way for others to come to the great Light (Jesus). What a wonderful privilege to be little lights for You.
Help us to stay united, pursue peace and shine Your light in this dark world. We praise and exalt You. There is no one like You in all this earth. You hear, You love and You provide. No good thing will You withhold from those who walk uprightly (Psalm 84:11). The good thing that we ask for is a closer walk with You and the ability to shine Jesus’ light everywhere we go and to everyone we come into contact with.
Help us to die to the flesh and to shine the light of Your Love, Grace and Mercy to all those we come into contact with, for Your great glory. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
