Speak Life

Death and life are in the power of the tongue,
And those who love it will eat its fruit.

Proverbs 18:21 NKJV

I remember a time when I was a lot younger, and someone had spoken negatively to me in my life. I wanted to share how it affected my whole life. Back story: I was given away by my mother and raised by foster parents. I was the very first one in my biological family to even get a high school education. Then I married an abusive alcoholic. I had wanted to sell life insurance. I spent the next few weeks studying for my exam. I then took the test and failed by 3 points. My ex-husband said that he knew I wouldn’t be able to pass it. He said I had never been anything and never would be anything. He said I was nothing. Then he said a lot of other things about my character that were untrue. The thing is, I had believed him and what he said left me feeling unable to accomplish anything. So, I gave up. I have shared this today to show the impact of our words. What I had needed to hear was, you can do this, you will accomplish it, there is nothing you can’t do, awe well you might have failed but it was only 3 points, take the test again and you will pass…. but I received none of those and the words that he did speak were the ones that shaped my life. Do you see the power we wield with our words?

What we need to be doing is speaking life to ourselves and all others that God has placed in our paths. Speak the truths that we know according to the Word of God.

“In every encounter we either give life or we drain it; there is no neutral exchange.”

~ Brennan Manning

Father God,
we thank You for all things. You are so awesome. Thank You for the wisdom that You have supplied us with in every page of Your precious word. Thank You for Jesus who is our Living Word. Thank You for the Holy Spirit who leads and guides us. Thank You for Your great and unconditional love that You have for all people. We ask for our speech to be pleasing to You. We ask for our conversations to be full of grace and seasoned with salt, so that we would know how to answer everyone (Colossians 4:6). We ask for Your help to slow down and to think before just throwing our words out there. May our words be Your words, full of grace and truth. We know that our words can make or break people. We want to use our words to revive, encourage and strengthen others. Help us to stop and think before we just blurt out things. May we get into the habit, as we are listening fully to others, to be also praying for the right words of response to them. We trust that You will give us the desires of our hearts. Those desires are to be pleasing to You in all things. Forgive us for the times that we have said wrong things. May we all learn a lesson from them and move forward guided by the knowledge of Your truth. May everything we think, say and do bring You glory. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Such Great Love

I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.

Galatians 2:20 NASB
Pray with me please.

Father God,
How rich are You in love and mercy! How great are Your thoughts towards us. How magnificent is Your name in all the earth. There is no greater love than Yours. Thank You so much for that love. The love that reached down and brought us out of the darkness, the love that was there for us while we were yet sinners, oh, what great love. We ask today that we just get an inkling of the great love You have for us as individuals. May we just meditate on that love and know beyond a shadow of a doubt that You love us completely, wholly and truly. We receive that love and pray that we would shine forth with Your love to all others around us. May Your kingdom come and Your will be done. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Serve with Love

Work with enthusiasm, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.

Ephesians 6:7 NLT

Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too.
You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.

Philippians 2:3-5 NLT
Pray with me please.

Father God,
How good and kind You are. You have shown us the Way. Jesus had a servant’s heart. We seek to be like Him. Help us to be obedient, faithful and loyal to our bosses, family members, teachers and pastors. There is something to be said for a person with morals and values, someone who has strong convictions and does the right things for the right reasons. For sure we do not do things so that others would see and glorify us, rather we humbly do that which would bring You glory. We so want to hear You say well done. We make it our goal to please You (2 Corinthians 5:9). May Your kingdom come and Your will be done. In Jesus’ name we pray, amen.

Be Courageous

No one will be able to stand against you as long as you live. For I will be with you as I was with Moses. I will not fail you or abandon you.
“Be strong and courageous, for you are the one who will lead these people to possess all the land I swore to their ancestors I would give them. Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the instructions Moses gave you. Do not deviate from them, turning either to the right or to the left. Then you will be successful in everything you do. Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do. This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

Joshua 1:5-9 NLT

We have to build ourselves up in our faith (Jude 1:20). We do that by reading and claiming the word of God. We will all experience trials and tribulations at one time or another in this world, but we are to be of good cheer for Jesus has overcome this world (John 16:33). We are more than overcomers through Him (Romans 8:37). What promises can you see in the above verses that you can apply to your life?

Father God,
We are so thankful for Your word. You give light, strength, encouragement, direction and love in Your word. We ask that Your word be our comfort when times are tough. Please give us the strength to daily meditate on Your word and adhere to that which we know to be true according to what is written therein. Everything that we need is in the blessed pages of the Holy Bible. We know Your word is true. How wonderful to trust You and to rest in Your promises. Thank You for Your presence. Help us to never be afraid or discouraged for You will take care of Your children. We are safe in Your hands. We praise and bless You. May Your kingdom come and Your will be done. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Be People of Prayer

18 Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.

Ephesians 6:18 NLT

The time to pray is now. When a person reaches out and asks you, “will you pray for me?” Don’t wait until later. Sometimes later doesn’t come as we get so busy in our day to day lives. Take the time to stop what you are doing, listen to their prayer request and pray right there and then. There may be times our prayers are public and all of a sudden. Just let the Holy Spirit lead you.

Pray with me please.

Father God,
How magnificent, holy and mighty You are. Thank You so much for all of the many blessings that You have done for us. We declare that You are in charge over us. We lift our lives to You in sweet surrender. We ask that You work in and through us to accomplish Your purposes for our lives. We confess our sins and we ask for You to forgive us for anything we may have thought, said or done that was outside of Your will. Clothe us with Your protection. We need Your help and ask for You to clothe us with Your mighty armor every day. We forgive all who have hurt us and ask You to forgive them. Restore relationships in our lives. What satan would have destroyed or broken, we ask for You to redeem. May we be ready always and receptive to Your Holy Spirits leading to pray for others as we would want others to pray for us at any time and in any place. We are not ashamed. Let Your light pierce the darkness in our families and neighborhoods. May everything we think, say and do be for Your glory. We pray for Your kingdom to come and Your will to be done. In Jesus’ name.

Who will You Serve?

Serve the world (satan) or serve the Lord. Make no mistake the word of God states that we cannot serve two masters. This world is not going in the way of the Lord.

12 “In everything, therefore, treat people the same way you want them to treat you, for this is the Law and the Prophets.
13 “Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. 14 For the gate is narrow and the way is constricted that leads to life, and there are few who find it.

Matthew 7: 12-14 NASB

Father God,
We thank You today for Your word. There is such power and awakening in the pages therein. We bask in the fullness of Your words. Every syllable has such incredible power to transform even the most hardened heart. Thank You for teaching us the truth. We ask that we remember in every transaction that we have with others, to treat them fairly and with respect. There are only two ways in every circumstance or situation, right (good) or wrong (bad). There is a way (following Jesus) that leads to Heaven and a way that leads to hell (rejecting Jesus). There is no middle ground. We are either serving You or serving satan. Your word says no man can serve two masters (Matthew 6:24). Teach us to deny all worldly lusts and every form of ungodliness and to live in this world fully devoted to You (Titus 2:12). We ask that Your light burn so brightly in us that we, through the light of Your love, would show others the only Way, which is Jesus Christ our Lord and Master. We pray for Your kingdom to come and for Your will to be done on earth as it is in Heaven. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Refuse the Bait

How do we keep our eyes fixed on heavenly things in a world where everything that is wrong is being celebrated and people are being baited to hate one another to fulfill a satanic agenda? That is easy. We just keep our eyes on Jesus. We fill our mind and heart with the truths of His word. We do not allow the enemy to come near us. We hold up our shield of faith.

Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls.

Hebrews 12:1-3 NKJV

I refuse the bait of satan. He tries continuously to race bait. I refuse it in Jesus’ name. I will not regard all of one race a bad or good set of people because of their skin color. We are all people. We all bleed the same blood. Satan is out there trying to kill, steal and destroy all of God’s children, regardless of color. Please stand together with me and rebuke satan and his minions. Say it out loud with me, please. We rebuke you satan in the mighty name of Jesus. We declare there is one race and that is the human race. We stand together united as brothers and sisters in the Lord. We will not fall for your craftiness, schemes or lies. We command you to stop spreading your lies and hatred in our homes, families and neighborhoods. We speak the name of Jesus over our lives, families and homes. We plead His precious blood. Satan, you and your demons and generals must flee in Jesus’ name. We choose to love others. We will not fall victim to the lies of the enemy. We know who the Victor is! Jesus is our Lord and Savior.

Pray with me please.

Father God,
How majestic is Your name in all the earth! You have created such beauty all around us. We thank You for each other. We thank You for love that You give to us. Thank You for the ability to love others as You have loved us. We choose to love. We choose to turn the news off. We choose to see others through Your lens of love. So many people in the world are choosing and pushing hate and worldly philosophies. We choose love and God; we choose to walk in ways that please You. We ask You to strengthen our hands, knees and feet to do the work that You have called for us to do. May we always pursue peace with all people and seek holiness. We so want for You to be pleased with us. We pray for Your great will to be done on this earth as it is in heaven. May Your kingdom come. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Do You Know the Truth?

18 Children, it is the last hour; and just as you heard that antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have appeared; from this we know that it is the last hour. 19 They went out from us, but they were not really of us; for if they had been of us, they would have remained with us; but they went out, so that it would be evident that they all are not of us. 20 But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you all know. 21 I have not written to you because you do not know the truth, but because you do know it, and because no lie is of the truth. 22 Who is the liar except the one who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, the one who denies the Father and the Son. 23 Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father; the one who confesses the Son has the Father also. 24 As for you, see that what you heard from the beginning remains in you. If what you heard from the beginning remains in you, you also will remain in the Son and in the Father.
25 This is the promise which He Himself made to us: eternal life.
26 These things I have written to you concerning those who are trying to deceive you. 27 And as for you, the anointing which you received from Him remains in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you; but as His anointing teaches you about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you remain in Him.
28 Now, little children, remain in Him, so that when He appears, we may have confidence and not draw back from Him in shame at His coming. 29 If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness also has been born of Him.

1 John 2 18- 29 NASB

Father God,
We thank You today for Your word. We thank You for Jesus, who is the Truth. Jesus is the Christ. He is Your Son. We believe in the triune Godhead. There is one God, You have shown Yourself in three different ways. We believe that Your Holy Spirit is alive in us and will draw us into a closer relationship with You. We thank You for the eternal life we have through Jesus. May we all stand strong in our faith. May no thing or no one dissuade us from following in Your steps. May those who are born into the family of Yours, through Jesus our Lord, practice that which we know is right to do. We want to run to You through this life with nothing hindering us. Please guard our lives, minds, thoughts, and words. May all of our actions be pleasing in Your sight. May Your kingdom come and Your will be done. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

Children of God or Children of Religion

Children of God or Children of Religion is a statement I just heard a pastor from the video at Lion of Judah. It certainly made me think.

21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. 22 Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; leave Me, you who practice lawlessness.’24 “Therefore, everyone who hears these words of Mine, and acts on them, will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 And the rain fell and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock. 26 And everyone who hears these words of Mine, and does not act on them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. 27 And the rain fell and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and it fell—and its collapse was great.”

Matthew 7:21-23 NASB

At the end of the Lion of Judah video I just watched it was said, ‘your protection against deception is the word of God.’ We are here to follow the Lord and to do that we must study His word. That is how we can know and do the will of God. If we just follow man, we can fall. We must be sure that everything that we are listening to and believing in is measured according to the Holy Bible.

26 For what good will it do a person if he gains the whole world, but forfeits his soul? Or what will a person give in exchange for his soul? 27 For the Son of Man is going to come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and will then repay every person according to his deeds.

Matthew 16:26-27 NASB

Father God,
You have shown us and told us that life is about so much more than religion. In order for us to be successful, we must be in close relationship with You. Our lives must show others that we are Your children. We must be holy and love one another (1 Peter 1:15-16 & John 13:34). Your word says, ‘You are able to keep us’ May we, Your children, always and only build on Your Son Jesus and His teachings. We do not want to do things so that others will see and think we are great. We want to be humble and do things that will point to You and show Your greatness. Life is not about us. There is nothing we could ever do that would be greater than what You have already done for all of mankind. You are awesome. Your word is true (Psalm 119:160). Help us to focus on the things that matter, the things that make a difference for Your kingdom. Draw us into a close relationship with You. Keep us safe. Let us always see Your truth in every situation. In Christ, You have set us free, please help us to walk in that freedom (Galatians 5:1). You are our Father and we will follow You (Romans 8:15). Have mercy on Your children. You are able to keep us and we entrust our lives into Your hands (Jude 1:24). May Your kingdom come and Your will be done. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Lift Jesus High

Have you ever had a song just touch you so deeply? This song and artist are just amazing. The heart that is put into words blesses my soul every time I listen. My prayer is that it touches you today as well. Listen to the man’s words which are closer to the end. This is just so motivating and encouraging!

Pray with me please.

Father God,
We are just so thankful for You today. We are so thankful for all that You are and all that You are doing. Thank You for including us in the work that You have for us to do in this earth. Thank You for Jesus, our resurrected King. Thank You for our new hearts (Ezekiel 36:26-27). Thank You for the strength that You give to us to abide in You. Thank You for this walk that we have on earth. We ask for You to be blessed through our surrendered lives. May we, at all times and in all ways, show and share the love of Christ for Your glory. Forgive us where we have failed You and draw each and every one of us into a closer relationship with You. May Your kingdom come and Your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

20 But now Christ is risen from the dead, and has become the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. 21 For since by man came death, by Man also came the resurrection of the dead. 22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive. 23 But each one in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, afterward those who are Christ’s at His coming. 24 Then comes the end, when He delivers the kingdom to God the Father, when He puts an end to all rule and all authority and power. 25 For He must reign till He has put all enemies under His feet. 26 The last enemy that will be destroyed is death. 27 For “He has put all things under His feet.” But when He says “all things are put under Him,” it is evident that He who put all things under Him is excepted. 28 Now when all things are made subject to Him, then the Son Himself will also be subject to Him who put all things under Him, that God may be all in all.
