Letting Go and Letting God

I’m not going to lie here and say I have never been tempted to write a bunch of stuff on a social media post. I have deliberated a time or two on making my status about something that someone has said or done that has hurt me. I think it is human nature to want to be heard or vindicated, our feelings thereby validated.

But, thank God, the Lord has always quieted my heart and helped me to not go screaming my emotions all over social media. I do have to admit it is very tempting at times. The Lord Jesus is so good though. He takes those hurts that you want to shout out to the world and He heals us. All we ever have to do is raise it up to Him. Just ask Him for His help.

The time to seek the Lord is now! He cares about your hurt. He sees your pain, the injustice that has been done to you. And brother or sister, He alone can heal you. He is longing for a deeper relationship with His children. All we have to do is take that first step towards Him. Then He picks us up and sets our feet on solid ground.

There is no god like our God. He is the King of the universe, the Ruler over all. He created this world and all of His wonderful children in it. His love for us is from everlasting to everlasting. There is no measuring it. All we can do is receive His love. He doesn’t push it on us. We have the choice. If you choose God, you will be so happy, trust me. HeΒ  fills us in a way that only He can. Just like a father loves to give good gifts to his children, how much more He wants to give to us!

Matthew 7:11 If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children,Β  how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!

He loves us so much.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

You can trust His love. Here is a fact for you….There are a lot ofΒ  people out there in the world that you cannot trust. We know that. So, why share some of your most private information with people on a social media platform who know and care not a smidgen for you? Share your thoughts, hurts and injustices with God. Watch Him, as He cares for you, watch and see what He will do.

Isaiah 41:10 Fear not for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

 Dear Lord,

Thank You for Your great love and concern for me. You know me and love me for just being me. I don’t have to do anything to ‘earn’ Your love. You give it to me freely. All You want is  for us to reach out to You. Lord I am reaching out to You now. Please take this heart of mine that has been hurt and let Your healing begin.

Let me be more and more like You in all of my ways. Lord I want to make You happy with me. I need all of my ‘likes’ to be from You. I don’t care what the world thinks now Lord, I only want to please You with my thoughts and my behavior.

I leave all of this Lord Jesus at Your feet. Thank You Lord for all of the help that You alone give to us. Bless your holy name forever.

Your servant,

  1. Thank you so much for this, Donna Marie. Your post is an answered prayer for me. I’ve just been praying about this before getting out of bed (I’m in the u.k.) and to see your post/prayer means so much to me. πŸ™πŸ™ŒπŸ’–

  2. Beautifully done, Sister Donna! We absolutely should be mindful about what we post on social media. Everything we say and do must be filtered through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We have to ask ourselves, are we pointing others to us or helping them draw near to Christ?
Continue using your gift for Christ!

  3. Oh Donna, this post reminds me of my younger days when I had Facebook. I used to vent and voice all my frustrations there instead of turning to Abba first. I’m so thankful that as we’ve gotten more saturated in His Word that He cultivates in us temperance and gives us the strength to walk away from such activities πŸ™ŒπŸ½
