Guard Your Heart

2 Corinthians 10:5 NKJV casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,

Proverbs 4:23 NASB Watch over your heart with all diligence, For from it flow the springs of life.

Luke 12:15 NKJV And He said to them, “Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses.”

Matthew 5:28 NKJV But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

Dearest and most holy heavenly Father,

You are good, holy, trustworthy and worthy of all praise. May Your kingdom come and Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Thank You for another day and with it more opportunities to shine so bright for You. Help us to be strong, brave and bold. Keep the chains from binding us. Remove any entrapment that would prevent us from furthering Your kingdom. May our walk be pleasing in Your eyes. Help us to be happy with what we have. Whether it is a little or a lot. May we be content in all things (Hebrews 13:5). Lord, let us especially be satisfied with our spouses. May we bring each other joy and comfort. Help us to hold each other up before Your throne and to be true to our vows that we made before You, our holy God. Help us if we ever fight, let it be fighting for the strength of our marriage. Help us to show Christ like love to each other at all times. May our husbands love and nourish us as his own flesh (Ephesians 5:25-29) and may we be respectful and not quarrelsome to them. Let us have peace (Proverbs 21:9). Let the world see our relationships and know that we are different. May they want what we have, which is the peace and joy that only a life submitted to You can bring. May everything we say, think or do bring honor to You. For I ask it in Jesus’ name. Amen.
