Pray with insight

In this manner, therefore, pray:
Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.
10 Your kingdom come.
Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts,
As we forgive our debtors.
13 And do not lead us into temptation,
But deliver us from the evil one.
[a]For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

Matthew 6:9-13 NKJV

Google is a powerful tool. I found out one of the most googled words is wordle. I wanted to show how it could be used when pertaining to the Bible, especially in regard to prayer. Wordle is a game (Here is a link to Christian Wordle. This game has a new word every day. It also has a hint as to where the word can be found. If you click on the link, it will take you to the Bible chapter where the word can be found), but Wordle can also mean a visual representation of text data. We can use it pertaining to prayer. Here is an example that I found online.

“In our Bible study group, we created a wordle from the text of the Lord’s Prayer, and it was fascinating to see ‘heaven’, ‘forgive’, and ‘daily’ stand out, visually reinforcing the key elements of this foundational Christian prayer.”

This sentence illustrates the use of a wordle as a tool to analyze and visualize the frequency of words in a specific prayer from the Bible, offering insights into the thematic emphasis of the prayer through a graphical representation

“The Sunday school teacher displayed a wordle based on the frequency of words found in the prayers of the Bible, and it was enlightening to see ‘faith’, ‘heal’, and ‘peace’ appear prominently, offering a visual insight into the spiritual priorities expressed in these sacred texts.”

This sentence illustrates the use of a wordle as an educational tool to analyze and present the common words used in biblical prayers, thereby highlighting the key themes and concepts that are central to the practice of praying according to the Bible

I also had fun making the above picture with the words from the Lord’s prayer. You can go to this site to try it yourself. It is a word cloud generator.

Pray with me, please.

Father God,
As we come to You today, we think about the magnitude of Your Word. It is amazing to us to see how You reach out to Your children with love through every single word. Help us to delve deep into the passages we find today and every day in the Bible. It is our earnest and heartfelt desire to have intimate communication with You. Thank You for the great example of prayer in today’s blog. Thank You for giving us understanding. We know this prayer is an outline for how to pray. We lay everything about us at Your feet. We know that there is nothing hidden from You. You know our heart’s and our minds. You formed us. Please align our thoughts, words and actions with that which is pleasing in Your sight. Thank You for joy. It is fun to do a wordle on prayer. Help us to continue to seek You with all of our heart, mind and soul. May Your kingdom come and Your will be done. Please bring peace to Israel. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
