Descriptions of a disciple part 2

A disciple is one who has made a firm commitment to the Lordship of Jesus, putting Him first in every aspect of his life. This commitment is for a lifetime, Matthew 6:9-13, 24, 33; Luke 9:23; John 13:13; 2 Corinthians 5:15.

Matthew 22:37 NKJV

Love is more than an emotion (1 John 5:3). Love is more than words (1 John 3:18). Love is all (1 Corinthians 16:14). Love is complete. (1 John 4:17-19) Love is from God (1 John 4:7). Love never fails (1 Corinthians 13:8). Love is not fearful (1 John 4:18). Perfect love comes alive in a person the day that they accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

Father God,
We thank You for being at work in our lives. We thank You for showing and showering us with Your great perfect love. We ask that our heart, soul and mind would come under the Lordship of Jesus. We want Your Holy Spirit to guide us in all that we think, say and do. We want our will to align with Your will. We thank You for Your great guidance found in the blessed pages of Your Holy Bible. We want to show the world what a true disciple of Yours looks like. We can do it by Your great power at work in us. Help us as we continue to learn what being a disciple looks like. Thank You so much for the word today.
Please bring peace to Israel. May Your kingdom come and Your will be done. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
