The Bible says that he who endures to the end shall be saved. We must realize this is a race (2 Timothy 4:7). Sometimes it can get difficult, but we must press on for the prize we have in Jesus (Philippians 3:14). We must stay strong in the Lord and in His holy word. Then we will be able to ‘spot the not’. Do not get carried away in the flesh by any sin or temptation. We have to resist satan and he will flee from us (James 4:7).

God has so many good things stored up for us in heaven. That is where our focus should be, in storing up riches in Heaven, where nothing can corrupt them (Matthew 6:19-21). This world is temporary (2 Corinthians 4:18).

Revelation 3:21 NKJV To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.

Father God,

We ask for Your help in overcoming the challenges, problems and temptations that we face as the world grows darker. Remind us to walk in the light as You are in the light. Nothing or no-one can defeat You. May we retrain our brain to think according to Your word and not the lies of this world or the enemy. We can live victoriously in Christ by Your great power living in us. Help us to stay humbled at Your feet and praise You through any and all storms. May we keep our eyes and mind on Jesus, in Whose name we pray. Amen.

  1. This is a great word. My pastor has a series going right now on this very same subject. It’s so important that we remember, it’s a marathon and not a sprint. And we must stay in the race! When it gets hard, we may walk but we can never quit. God will sustain us, but we have to stay in the Word and in His presence (food and water) in order to overcome – just like in a physical race. Blessings!

    1. Thank you. Amen! We have to stay fit (active study + prayer) as well. God’s word is so refreshing. He is our Guide and our Strength. Like you said, He will feed us and sustain us. He is good and worthy of all praise!
