The merciful (forgiving, compassionate, gracious, lenient, humane, softhearted, kind, sympathetic and patient person) shows Christ’s love to others, which is good for us in this life and in our eternal home with the Lord. Those that are cruel will have nothing, but trouble brought on by themselves.
Give us a heart to love others as You do. Help us to love the unlovable. Who are we to deem someone worthy or not of our love, when You died for all mankind? You love us right where we are. Before we even gave our hearts to You, You died for us (Romans 5:8). Your love poured out for all mankind on the cross (John 3:16). You see us as something beautiful, something to die for. How could anyone reject so great a love as Yours? Please do a mighty work in us and help us to produce good fruit, Lord (Matthew 7:17). For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever (Matthew 6:13). May Your kingdom come, and Your will be done. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
