Oh How He Loves

Revelation 3:14-22 NLT  “Write this letter to the angel of the church in Laodicea. This is the message from the one who is the Amen—the faithful and true witness, the beginning of God’s new creation:

15“I know all the things you do, that you are neither hot nor cold. I wish that you were one or the other! 16But since you are like lukewarm water, neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth! 17You say, ‘I am rich. I have everything I want. I don’t need a thing!’ And you don’t realize that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked. 18So I advise you to buy gold from me—gold that has been purified by fire. Then you will be rich. Also buy white garments from me so you will not be shamed by your nakedness, and ointment for your eyes so you will be able to see. 19I correct and discipline everyone I love. So be diligent and turn from your indifference.

20“Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends. 21Those who are victorious will sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat with my Father on his throne.

22“Anyone with ears to hear must listen to the Spirit and understand what he is saying to the churches.”

Most holy heavenly Father,

Oh, how we adore You. We lift Your name up so high! We praise and exalt You for all that You are and all that You do for Your people. You are indeed holy and there is none like You in all the earth. We worship You.

Father God, we pray for ourselves and others that we would be humble and that You would be pleased with us. Lord, I ask that we (Your body) would be on fire for You. That we would be walking, talking and thinking in ways that are pleasing to You. Help us to lead by example so that others would see, sense and feel Your Spirit through us. This world needs You now more than ever. You are the answer to any and every problem known to mankind.

Lord, the Only One we are confident in is You. You hold everything in Your hands. Where could we go that You are not there? (Psalm 139:7-12) There is nowhere. We don’t want to go anywhere without You. We want more of Your power so that we can walk in Your fullness, until the day You take us home.

Please continue to use us. Shine so bright through us for Your kingdom! Help us to always put You and Your ways first. Help us to be committed, dedicated and wholly surrendered to You. May we walk in a way that is pleasing in Your sight. I pray that You would open even more doors in our lives that no man can shut and shut the ones that need to be shut so that no man can open them (Revelation 3:7-8). You have all the power. You hold the keys to the kingdom (Matthew 16:19 & Revelation 1:18). All honor, glory and power are Yours both now and evermore. With all of our love we give our all to You. Have Your way. In Jesus’ name.

We are instructed to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2), so if there are any prayer requests feel free to leave them in the comment section. I would be honored to pray with you. If it is more private you can always contact me via email at luckd61@yahoo.com I check that every day. Blessings to you all, till we meet again, tomorrow, if the Lord is willing. Peace.

Let’s worship today with

  1. I always have loved this scripture: “Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in…” Bob & I wanted to buy a house 15 years ago when we were looking for where to retire. It was in Heber City, Utah, high on a hill. A gorgeous log structure whose front door had no door knob. You had to knock … it had a beautiful knocker. When the door was opened to you, on the wall just left of the door, inside the lovely entry, was a painting of Jesus standing in front of that very door – knocking!! Oh, how it touched my soul!
