John 15:3 KJV Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.
It is not by our works that we are clean. It is only through the word that Jesus has spoken. We believe and obey His word and we try to do our best at that which is right according to the instructions that are written in His word. The Holy Spirit then cleanses us through the washing of the word.
It is by grace through faith in Jesus that we are cleansed. We are washed by believing the word of God. We are made clean by trusting the promises of God. All of His promises are yes and amen (2 Corinthians 1:20).
Dear Lord,
Thank You that You gave Your righteousness to us by our faith in Your Word. Help us also to live by faith, for we know that the righteous shall live by faith (Galatians 3:11). Thank You that we are also saved through faith (Ephesians 2:8-9). Thank You for declaring us righteous (Romans 5:1). By Your grace, please, help us to be more like Jesus, by purifying our hearts and minds (1 John 1:9). Help us to be quick to repent when we have sinned, to pray daily and develop a strong relationship with You, to acknowledge You in all we say and in all we do and to study Your word to show ourselves approved to You (2 Timothy 2:15) . We love You and just want to grow closer to You being pleasing to You in everything. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
