Not Too Far

Acts 26:13-18 NLT About noon, Your Majesty, as I was on the road, a light from heaven brighter than the sun shone down on me and my companions. We all fell down, and I heard a voice saying to me in Aramaic, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me? It is useless for you to fight against my will.’ “‘Who are you, lord?’ I asked. “And the Lord replied, ‘I am Jesus, the One you are persecuting.  Now get to your feet! For I have appeared to you to appoint you as My servant and witness. Tell people that you have seen Me, and tell them what I will show you in the future.  And I will rescue you from both your own people and the Gentiles. Yes, I am sending you to the Gentiles  to open their eyes, so they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God. Then they will receive forgiveness for their sins and be given a place among God’s people, who are set apart by faith in Me.’

I want you to see that even Saul, (name changed to Paul), in the Bible persecuted Christians, and in doing so he persecuted Jesus Himself (Matthew 25:40). But Jesus loved him enough to stop him even when he was on his way to go persecute more Christians. I feel as though the Lord was saying to him ENOUGH! It was his personal call from the Lord to follow Him. Maybe this blog is your call. Maybe the Lord is speaking to you today. Do you hear Him saying, ENOUGH!? Come to Him today. Lay it all at Jesus feet.

No matter how far down you have sunk, no matter how useless or unwanted you feel, no matter where you are from, or what you have done, the Lord wants you to know that He loves you. He loves you so much. You have value and worth in His eyes, so much so that He gave His one and only Son to free us all from the bonds of death, disease and turmoil (John 3:16). He gave His all on the cross. All we have to do is accept His free gift of salvation. Listen, you do NOT have to wait until you ‘get things right’ or become ‘good enough’. Those are lies from the enemy because we will never on our own power ‘get things right’ or be ‘good enough’.

Romans 5:8 But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.

Our sins are what nailed our precious Savior to the cross (1 Peter 2:24). All of the bad things we have ever done: cursing, slander, lying, accusations, drugs, drunkenness, abuse, hatred, jealousy, witchcraft, rape, murder and assault are some of the things that we get wrapped up in. Listen, we all have a hole in our hearts and we try to fill it with one or more of these kind of things.

The only One who can fill that hole is Jesus. He is our Hope, Savior, Answer, Anchor and Friend. His love is true. He will never leave us or abandon us (Deuteronomy 31:8). He is the Way, the Truth and the Life. No man can come to the Father but through Him (John 14:6). Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good (Psalm 34:8). If you let Him, He will heal you from all of the things that you may be battling.

Depression is a tool of the enemy, but God is, right now, moving in a mighty way to open blinded eyes, so that they could see the truth. Come to Him today. Let Him hold you and put all of the shattered pieces back together again. He is awesome.

Father God,

I thank You for Your great love. Indeed it surpasses our understanding. Thank You for the cross and Your gift of life to all who would call on Your great name. Thank You that You are opening people’s eyes to the truth, even now. Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. (Romans 10:13) That is Your word. You do not lie.

For those who want You to be Lord of their life, You have also said in Romans 10:9-10, ‘If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.  For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.’

Dearest heavenly Father, Right now I openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in my heart that You have raised Him from the dead. I turn away from my sins. I ask for Your forgiveness of sins. Come into my heart today and be my Lord and Savior. In Jesus’ name I pray.

  1. Great post! Donna, To “All” of mankind NOT even hell can stop Jesus for I cried out as a teenager in my soul form heading to literal hell I cried out to Jesus to seek YHWH through Jesus Christ, and here I am back on earth nothing is impossible for Jesus to complete to save souls.

The Holy Spirit directed me to share this song.

      1. Yes! God is so so Good! because I experienced damnation that most individuals cannot begin to understand and yet Jesus dying on the cross was placed in action in that moment of restoration of my soul. I love Jesus Christ so much! before that event I cannot say such.

  2. Happy Saturday evening to you, {{{Donna}}}. It’s been quite a week. Your post, “Let Him hold you and put all of the shattered pieces back together again,” was so appropriate. I feel His loving arms… and yours, too. Thank you! Have a beautiful Sunday. ❤
